Yabashira (ヤバシラ Yabashira) is an original character created by Yako Kureishi in the Somali and the Forest Spirit manga and anime series. He will be voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki in the anime.
Appearance[]
He has black eyes with thin vertical pupils, pale blue eyelashes, pointed ears and messy styled hair that is slightly longer on the sides in front of his pointed ears. It is black in coloration overall except for the hair tips which are slightly white. Yabashira has no fringe over his two horns on his forehead, which have the same pale lavender color as his skin.
Clothing
His clothing consists of dark green Kimono with a brush-like, light green charm attached to its right chest, right underneath a light green symbol of a flower.
Personality[]
Yabashira is shown to be considerate, responsible and organized - being the one that takes on the majority of domestic tasks. Despite his domestic nature, he also has a short temper when it comes to Shizuno neglecting his chores. Otherwise, he appears calm and caring for those close to him as he even gives Somali some baked goods for their travels.
Story[]
The River and the Oni's Dwelling[]
Yabashira throws a fruit at Shizuno when he arrives home, which hits Somali and Golem who have also come with him.
He has prepared cake to apologize for this happening, and then tends to the house with help from Somali as Shizuno teaches Golem about medicine.
By nightfall, he listens as Golem elaborates on his need to hurry and find Somali's parents since his own lifespan is coming to a close.
In the morning he offers a bag of sweets to Somali, telling her to eat them if she gets hungry.

Somali[]
A young girl dressed as a minotaur who is brought to his house. He is friendly towards her and prepares cake for her to eat. Yabashira keeps her busy with chores when she is eager to help and they get along well.
Golem[]
Inoffensively, he labels Golem as dense for not realizing that Somali is content when she is around him.
Shizuno[]
He is Shizuno's assistant, and comments that he cannot handle tidying up. Yabashira orders him to not say scary stuff like asking for a piece of Golem's body.
